Frequently Asked Questions

What is a ferrule?

It’s the small collar that sits between your golf shaft and clubhead. Traditionally it’s just a decorative piece - ours turn it into a style upgrade and a subtle performance enhancer by improving shaft-to-head alignment and creating a tighter visual transition.

How many ferrules come in an Feral Golf Co. order?

Each order includes 10 ferrules - enough for a full iron set plus a couple extras in case your club builder sacrifices one to the golf gods during install.

Will Feral Golf ferrules fit my clubs?

Yes. Our ferrules are built to fit standard .355 (taper tip) and .370 (parallel) shaft types depending on the variant you select. Check the product page to make sure you’re grabbing the right size for your irons, wedges, hybrids, or woods.

Can I install ferrules myself?

If you’ve re-gripped clubs before and aren’t afraid of a little elbow grease, yes. But if heat guns, epoxy, and clubheads make you nervous, hand these to your local club builder. They’ll knock it out in 5 minutes.

What tools do I need to install ferrules?

  • Heat gun or boiling water (to soften the old ferrule)

  • Utility knife or ferrule extractor (to remove the old one)

  • Epoxy (if you’re pulling the head)

  • A smooth surface or towel to “turn down” the ferrule for a seamless finish

How To: Set Iron Ferrules

Do I need to remove the clubhead to replace ferrules?

Usually, yes - especially for irons and wedges.
You can swap a ferrule without pulling the head in rare cases, but it’s much cleaner and more secure to do it the proper way.

Ideally you can place a Feral Golf Co. order in advance of a new set or as you are re-shafting an old set of clubs - which will make installation easier!

Are Feral Golf ferrules durable?

100%. They’re engineered to handle heat, swings, travel, and whatever chaos your bag sees on the weekend. No slipping, cracking, or spinning.

Can ferrules affect performance?

Indirectly, yes. A well-installed ferrule helps ensure the shaft seats correctly and reduces potential micro-misalignment. Think of it like tightening the laces on your golf swing -cleaner, sharper, more consistent.

The Performance line of Feral Golf Co. can help with visual alignment and dampening.

Do ferrules work on new club builds?

Absolutely. In fact, installing custom ferrules is easiest when you’re:

  • Building brand-new clubs

  • Reshafting

  • Swapping shafts

  • Getting a full bag tune-up

If you’re already pulling heads, it’s the perfect time to upgrade the look.

Will installing ferrules void my club warranty?

No. As long as a qualified builder does the work and the club isn’t visibly damaged, you’re good.

How do I know if a ferrule is fully seated?

There should be zero gap between the ferrule and the hosel - clean, tight, flush. If there’s a visible step or space, the shaft isn’t fully inserted.

Can I mix and match ferrule colors?

Of course. It’s your bag - go full peacock mode if you want. That's a good idea for another Feral design...Full Peacock...write that down.

Do you offer custom or personalized ferrules?

Yes. Custom colors, club-logo variants, initials, alignment designs -Feral Golf is built around personalization. Check the product page for the custom options (Your Custom Design) or shoot us a message at support@feralgolfshop.com.

What if my ferrules arrive damaged?

Rare but possible. Shoot us a photo at support@feralgolfshop.com and we’ll replace them immediately - no hassle.
